Who we are
AAB Research is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: privacy@aab-research.com, 11 Kirkby Close, Cambridge, CB4 1XP, UK.
If you email us
When you write to orders@aab-research.com we use your message and contact details to answer your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to supply what you asked about. We keep enquiry correspondence for 3 years.
Visitor statistics
We count how often each product on this site is looked at and how often the Request info buttons are used, so that we know which of our tools and reagents are useful to other labs.
- No cookies. We store nothing on your device and use no advertising or third-party analytics.
- We keep counts only, such as "12 visitors looked at His-GentleBind today". We do not build a profile of you and cannot tell who you are.
- To avoid counting the same visitor twice in one day, your IP address and browser type are combined into a short code using a secret that is thrown away at the end of each day, which makes the code impossible to trace back afterwards. Your IP address itself is not stored.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted at all.
- Our web server also keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are deleted automatically after about two weeks.
Our lawful basis for these counts is our legitimate interest in understanding which of our products are of interest. Because the statistics are aggregated and hold no identifier for you, this has minimal impact on your privacy.
The free cloning tools
The tools at www2.aab-research.com need a registration and are covered by their own privacy notice. Your DNA sequences are never uploaded: all calculations run in your own browser.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, or to restrict or object to its use. Email privacy@aab-research.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority; in the UK this is the ICO.
